At the Bor State Hospital in Bor, Jonglei State, almost 300 patients are now left untreated following a walkout by 234 healthcare professionals.

The mother of three-month-old babies, Yar Kuol Alier, visited her ill daughter at the public hospital for a duration of five hours.

She implored the State Ministry to take prompt action before the situation deteriorates.

"People are currently experiencing extreme hardship, and we lack the necessary financial resources." If this situation continues like this, then it will get worse and worse,” he said.

Nyarop Reech, another carer who crossed the river from Awerial to Bor for better medical treatment, described how difficult it is to remain in the hospital with suffering people when no doctor is responding to their predicament.

“I am seriously worried about my child, who is just down without anyone attending to him. How are we going to survive as people from other states who came for medical services here?” Ms. Reech told Mingkaman FM.

When contacted by Mingkaman FM, the minister of Health in the state, Lual Mony-luak stated that he was present at the meeting.

On Monday, medical staff at the Bor State Hospital in Jonglei State locked the hospital's main gates and outpatient section in protest over two months of unpaid incentives.

The medical doctor said that the strike will go on till the Ministry of Health and its allies, UNICEF and Tear Fund, pay the outstanding balance.
